ALMQVIST FAMILY CREST
The Almqvist Family Crest in its earliest form dates back to 1698, with its latest version approved in 1981.
The leaves signify growth, and the light learning.
Taken together, it can be interpreted as growth through learning.
The original crest with the light was first used by Harald Almqvist (1657-1711), who was educated at the University of Åbo, now in Finland, then part of the Kingdom of Sweden.
The direct paternal blood line of the Almqvist’s can be traced back to the 1480s, and the Frasers of Lovat on the paternal line 700 years to the 14th century.
The Frasers from which the Frasers of Lovat Clan originated can be traced back more than 900 years to the 12th century AD.
